This Mexican state has one of the richest food in the country, especially for those who like seafood and fresh ingredients. We have been to some farm to table restaurants that I would like to share with you.
In Todos Santos, a charming “pueblo mágico” in BCS, there are great options for eating well, but here are the ones that we enjoyed the most.
Javier Plascencia is a well known chef from Tijuana – Mexico – and his purpose is to promote the mexican culinary with his international touch. His main focus is to bring the best and seasonal products from Baja to your table. The service was really good and the place lovely. Ask for the vegetables of the day!
It was our favorite one. The place is really amazing, when you enter you pass through the organic vegetable garden and arrive to the minimalist and relaxed restaurant atmosphere. We’ve ordered:
– Grilled veggie plate: an assortment of the vegetables of the day
– Hummus with crudités.
– Zucchini blossom ravioli
When in Los Cabos, you will notice that there are a lot of restaurants focusing on the americans, like Tex-Mex food and big portion restaurants. So when I was searching for something more natural, I found this beautiful farm.
Away from the caos of the touristic San Jose del Cabo you will find this gem. After going to both restaurants mentioned, in Todos Santos, and entering at Los Tamarindos (amazing place), our expectation was very high. We ordered 3 dishes/entrees for sharing (the good thing is that the portions were big):
– Roasted cauliflower that wasn’t roasted enough, it seemed to be only boiled. However the sauce was very very tasty.
– Hummus as an entree that was prepared with turmeric and was really good!
– Caprese salad that didn’t have enough “panela” cheese, it was completely disproportional to the quantity of tomatoes haha, which made us ask a little bit more of cheese.
=> Bottom line: more expensive than the above (situated in a zone with many americans) and we missed the final touch, because they have great and fresh ingredients but was not memorable. But the place definitely is! It is worth the visit just for that.
