Yamas and Niyamas

About 6000 years ago an ancient Indian sage called Patanjali outlined an eight-step blueprint, that basically serve as guidelines on how to live a purposeful and meaningful life, showing us that Yoga is not only about the physical practice (asanas).

Yoga Sutra is the guidebook made up of 195 aphorisms (sutras), or words of wisdom. In Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, the eightfold path is called ashtanga. ‘Ashtau’ means eight and ‘anga’ meaning limbs.

Yoga Books

Recently many friends and students have asked me some yoga book recommendations to start a self study journey. So I’ve decided to share some that are not solely focused on postures/asanas. You can find them in many bookstores or Amazon. Most of them I have on Kindle because it’s easier to carry while traveling, cheaper and more sustainable! Ubud Restaurants

Ubud is definitely heaven on Earth for vegan and vegetarians. If you are confused or lost with so many options and don’t know where to start, I can help you.

I stayed in Ubud for 40 days to take a Yoga Teacher Training and, still did not visit all the restaurants on my list.

Of course, there is always that one that you want to go back to and if possible ask for the same incredible dish. I was truly committed with my list goal but I obviously have my favorites and I’ll share with you 🙂
